SOCIAL JUSTICE INITIATIVES

Challah for Hunger brings people together to raise money and awareness for social justice--through challah bread.  There are over forty chapters, on college campuses throughout the U.S. and beyond, engage young people in community, tradition, hands-on baking, activism, and philanthropy.  E-mail: Nicole Mavashev at nm0611@gmail.com for more information.

TiCUNY Olam is a one month initiative held between the months of October and November that is designed to bring the concept of immersive service initiatives to repair the New York community.  This initiative will include service projects, ongoing learning sessions, and leadership training.  TiCUNY Olam will marshal the resources of Hillels in the City University of New York to inspire college students to see service as a Jewish and a global value.

If you want to get into these initiatives, volunteer for Habitat for Humanity, or a soup kitch, or even start your own initiative feel free to e-mail us at hillelatbaruch@gmail.com
