How many Jewish students attend Baruch College?

At least 1,600 Jewish students attend Baruch College, about 10% of the total student population.

What does Hillel at Baruch College offers to students?

 Hillel offers to Jewish students various events, culture exchange, leadership, networking, work, and travel opportunities. Some of which include: leadership training, alternative breaks, summer internships, etc.

Where is Hillel at Baruch College?

We are located in the Newman Vertical Campus of Baruch College on the 3rd Floor in Room 3-253.

Head up two flights of escalators and walk past the game room on your right.

Is Hillel a particular type of Judaism?

Hillel at Baruch is a pluralisitic organization that celebrates the many ways of being Jewish. Hillel students are Russian-speaking, Bukharian, Persian, Syrian, Israeli, Ashkenazi, Sephardi, American, and more!

We offer mincha (afternoon prayer services) every day at 3:45pm in Room 3-252, kosher food at all events, holiday celebrations and Jewish learning opportunties for the beginner or advanced learner.

Is there kosher food available besides at Hillel events?

Kosher food (Star K certification) including salads, wraps, and sandwiches are available in the Baruch College cafeteria.  The neighborhood is known for its kosher Indian restaurants and many students order from kosher vendors in the area.

What happens on campus for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur?

Baruch College is closed for but we can direct you to a location for services and meals if need be.

What are the membership fees for Hillel?

Our membership fees are FREE!  

You may however, join the list of recent alumni and current students who donate in support of the activities and programs of Hillel at Baruch.
