Since first being founded in 1923, Hillel's goal has been to provide college students with the means to connect with the Jewish culture, traditions and values. Today, we are delighted to be the largest Jewish campus organization in the world. Hillel gives students the opportunity to explore and celebrate their Jewish identity at over 500 campuses worldwide, and we're constantly striving to further extend our reach.
Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus life celebrated its 85th anniversary year on June 14, 2009 with simultaneous birthday parties held around the world. This "virtual gala" enabled Hillel alumni, professional, students and supporters to celebrate a milestone event in the organizatin's history in their own communities, without the need to travel to a distant city. All of the parties joined together in a single global teleconference featuring Hillel leadership and guests.
