Jessica Yeroshalmi is a Macaulay Honors student and rising junior at Baruch College studying Economics and Political Science. She has been an active part of Hillel at Baruch serving as the President of WINGS (Women Inspiring Next Generation Society) as well as an Engagement Intern and Career Campus Ambassador. Next year, she will serve as the Vice President of Programming for Hillel at Baruch. Jessica has also served as a Hasbara Fellow advocating for Israel on campus and is an active Council Member in Macaualy Scholars Council. Jessica’s parents fled Iran after the Islamic Revolution and her Persian Sephardic-Jewish heritage has shaped her path and inspired her to connect to other Jewish students and work to strengthen the Jewish community. Jessica is looking forward to working with the Student Cabinet to learn from and serve the diverse range of Jewish students across the globe.

Jackie Blyudoy is a rising senior at The City College of New York majoring in Italian and French with a minor in International Studies. She grew up in a Russian-Jewish secular home and entered college with a priority of learning about Jewish roots. She credits Birthright with Hillel that gave her the final push to fully immerse herself in the Jewish community on campus. Previously, she served as a StandWithUs Emerson Fellow and Hillel Engagement Intern. She has also worked at the Claims Conference, an organization that negotiates with the German government to provide pensions to Holocaust survivors. As a Survivor Outreach Representative, she specifically helped Russian-speaking Holocaust survivors. This year, she serves as President of Students Supporting Israel and Hillel Cross Coalition Coordinator. Jackie is excited to be a part of the Hillel International Student Cabinet and cannot wait to meet with the students across the world.

The members comprise a diverse cohort and were selected to represent a wide range of Jewish backgrounds and interests. They hail from colleges and universities of varying sizes and are engaged in many different areas of study. The members were selected through a highly competitive process.

“The Hillel International Student Cabinet embodies everything that the Hillel movement strives to be,” said Hillel International President and CEO Adam Lehman. “This group of student leaders from diverse backgrounds and unique Jewish journeys works together to ensure that Hillel is a home for every Jewish student. This past year, the Student Cabinet played an essential role in helping Hillels shape programs and experiences that met students’ needs during the isolation of the pandemic. I know this year’s Student Cabinet will be a key voice in helping Hillels transition back to on-campus programming and find other ways to connect students across the Hillel movement.”

This year, the members represent three countries – the United States, Canada, and Israel - and 12 states. The cabinet will also serve as a vehicle to connect Jewish college students to their peers throughout the world, by leveraging the global Hillel network. Currently, Hillel operates on more than 550 college campuses and in 17 countries.
