There are approximately 1,500 Jewish undergraduate students at Baruch College.

How do I join Hillel?

Where is Hillel located on campus?

The Hillel Club Suite is located on the third floor of the NVC (New Vertical Campus) - Room 3-250. It's just past the game room with the ping pong tables.

What kinds of events does Hillel have?

How do I get kosher food?

Hillel serves free kosher lunch at our events every day Monday - Thursday. We also sell kosher Fresco wraps at the Hillel Suite (NVC 3-250) for $8 every day. We're also in Manhattan! There are plenty of kosher restaurants within 15 blocks from Baruch College.

What does Hillel do for Shabbat?

Hillel at Baruch, City, John Jay, Pace, SVA, FIT, Fordham, The New School and NYIT offers many Shabbat experiences. These include overnight Shabbatons in and outside of Manhattan. We also host Shabbat dinners a few blocks away from Baruch on a monthly basis, as well as Shabbat dinners in apartments across NYC.

Does Baruch College offer Jewish Studies courses?

Yes! The Jewish Studies Center at Baruch College offers a Jewish Studies Minor. The Center also offers Hebrew language courses.

Is there a minyan (prayer service) on campus?

Yes! There is a daily (Monday - Thursday) traditional mincha minyan with a mechitza in the Hillel Suite (NVC 3-250) at 3:50pm. To get updates, you can join the Whatsapp Group. There are additional mincha minyanim following certain afternoon Jewish learning programs. Our partner synagogue, Congregation Adereth El, is located 5 blocks from Baruch College and offers daily minyanim.

Hillel serves free kosher lunch at our weekly "club hour" events alternating on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also sell kosher bars in the Hillel Office (NAC 4/153) for $1 and have other free kosher snacks available. We're also in Manhattan! There are plenty of kosher restaurants in both Washington Heights and the Upper West Side - both just a short subway ride away.

Does The City College of New York offer Jewish Studies courses?

Yes! The Jewish Studies Program at City College offers a Jewish Studies Major and Minor. The Program also offers Hebrew language courses.
